After a period of 4 years of providing Health and Safety consultancy to Badminton England, RDHS Ltd extended their remit to support on their major events programme:
National Badminton League Finals 2017
The showpiece event of the club season was held within Centre: MK shopping centre. With little existing infrastructure, a venue was constructed within a large open event space. RDHS Ltd supported in the venue design, compiling the necessary documentation and reviewing contractor paperwork.
Yonex All England Open Badminton Championships 2017
Initial focus was on understanding current operations during load in / out and developing a proportionate implementation of Construction (Design and Management) Regulations within the Barclaycard Arena. This involved developing overarching Construction Phase Plans and subsequent reviewing of contractor documentation.
As an on-site presence during this, RDHS Ltd co-ordinated the safe set up and take down of the event with a large number of contractors in tight timelines. A fresh set of eyes to the event allowed identification of Contingency Planning requirements and these were developed accordingly.
Yonex All England Badminton Championships 2018/19
Following the success of 2017, RDHS Ltd held greater experience in the event and were able to fully integrate into the planning with a deeper and wider understanding. Construction Phase Plans were improved with a larger input and practical guidance into a number of event related resolutions.
- Online Health and Safety Induction
To improve workforce and contractor engagement, RDHS Ltd integrated their Online Health and Safety Induction in 2018. This provided all those working at the Championships with the necessary general information they required to promote a safe working environment by outlining rules and best practice to follow.
The key benefit was its ability to be conducted remotely, and therefore raised awareness prior to arriving on site, saving time and cost whilst helping Badminton England in meeting their statutory duties.
Over 250 personnel registered and went through the induction process with email confirmations circulated to the person completing, Badminton England and RDHS Ltd to allow constant and real time monitoring.
