Designed for staff at all levels, who will be required to provide first aid. The course will provide practical skills, and give the learner confidence and knowledge to deal with first aid emergencies.
Understanding the importance of preventing cross-infection
Understanding the need for recording incidents and actions
The use of available equipment
Assessing the situation and circumstances in order to act safely, promptly and effectively in an emergency
Administering first aid to a casualty who is unconscious
Administering first aid to a casualty having a seizure, choking, wounded and bleeding or suffering from shock
Administer cardiopulmonary resuscitation
Provide first aid for minor injuries
Assessment / Qualification:
Continual assessment throughout the course by the tutor, with on course assignments.
Successful candidates receive a certificate valid for three years.
