It is a specific offence to hold and use a hand-held phone when driving
All Drivers must be aware that carrying out any of the following practices whilst Driving, could be deemed an offence if you are involved in an accident:
Eating, drinking & smoking
Reading a map
Must Do's:
Ensure your vehicle is fitted with a hands-free kit, which is compliant with the Road Traffic Act 2005
Inform the caller you are driving
Keep calls as short as possible, relevant to the business discussion
When making a call, keep the call relevant & as short as possible
Do not:
Send or read text messages
Access the internet
Send or read emails
Access calendars
Adjust data on any Sat Nav System whilst driving
Operate any feature on the handheld devices which requires the Driver to either hold the device or means you will potentially lose concentration.
