    July 2017 Newsletter

    Welcome

Welcome to the summer edition of our quarterly ezine.  This year, RDHS is celebrating its fifth anniversary of providing health and safety consultancy on the world stage and at home in the UK.  Over the last five years, we have created a track record and reputation that speaks for itself.  We remain driven by excellence, with our continued desire to provide a first-class service for our clients, wherever we are working.  Our work spans 27 international events, supporting 12 National Governing Bodies and international federations, delivering 11 concerts and production events along with five major sporting Games.

I’d like to thank everyone who has supported our business over the past years and we look forward to working with you in the next five years and beyond.

Joe Ryan, Managing Director of RDHS

IAAF World Para Athletics and World Athletics Championships 2017

We are thrilled to have been appointed as health and safety consultants to the IAAF World Para Athletics and World Athletics Championships 2017.

During July and August, London’s Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park plays host to a spectacular summer of world athletics.  RDHS has provided a team of six, headed by health and safety consultant Craig Combe, to deliver a comprehensive safety management programme for the championships including strategic planning, incident management plans and an assurance programme before and during the event.

Strengthening our offer with RDHS Air

Following a very successful pilot at the start of the year, we are proud to announce the launch of RDHS AIR, our advanced operational solution used to report and analyse accidents, incidents and near misses.

This impressive software has the facility to automatically notify key managers of any issues which need to be escalated or alerted to, ensuring teams can record information faster and more efficiently.

RDHS AIR collates and analyses data to provide real time information sharing as well as tracking key trends.

Following the terrorist incidents in Manchester and London over recent months, the government has issued a 174-page Crowded Places Guidance booklet to help businesses mitigate the risk of a terror attack.

As crowded places remain an attractive target, this guidance outlines measures which could lessen the likelihood or impact of a terror attack and the legal and commercial reasons why venues need to take this step to deter future incidents.

Under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, organisations have a duty to ensure people’s health and safety and inadequate protection from terrorists could put a business’s reputation at stake.
