With a desire to expand the festivals site layout and attendance to 8,000, RDHS with our event safety expertise became a key member of the Festival Committee for the 3-day event.
Input was provided in the planning of a number of changes from previous years, that included:
- Second spectator entrance
- Movement and increase of concessions
- Management of specialist Noise Consultants
- Implementation of Traffic Management Plan and TTRO’s
A full review of existing safety documentation was undertaken and developed. Updated versions and new plans, appropriate with the level of increase and changes for this year’s event, were compiled for submission to the Safety Advisory Group.
Further work was completed with the Site Management team to refine the procedures during the build and break and ensure a proportionate application of Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015. Further focus was also put onto contractor documentation and work done to ensure these met higher standards.
Attendance on site during all phases and throughout the weekend of the event saw a safe and successful event.
