What are the risks?
Visual discomfort - Temporary eye strain from constant focusing
Upper limb disorders – repetitive movements causing Repetitive Strain Injuries (RSI) or pains in neck, arms, elbows, wrists, hands, fingers
Postural problems from setting for prolonged periods of time
Headaches
Fatigue
Stress
A DSE User is Staff who: “habitually use display screen equipment as a significant part of their normal work”
A DSE User is an employee to whom all or most of the following apply:
Job requires DSE
No choice or discretion as to use of equipment
Used for continuous or near continuous spells of an hour or more at a time
Used most days
Have to input data quickly & accurately
Requires attention & concentration
Need for significant training or skills to use DSE
